One thought on “Way Off the Boat in Attacking the Pope

  1. Re:
Outrage about Catholics’ blasting the Pope or creating dangerous damage to the Church, one must remember to remind not only Michael but also many bloggers’ we all have clay feet and for them to own their own comments about Professional Catholics’ etc. as well as Cardinals Bishops etc., that at one time perhaps were not made in the most respectful manner and could even be considered wrong in some ways, in how they not their behavior was commented on. To say it is o.k. to say things of a negative nature and not necessarily in a Christian or Catholic certain way about Bishops and Cardinals for instance but not others is to have a double standard, or even worse hypocritical, especially if one turns around and accuses others of doing the same about people or their behavior that may also be wrong, but to those doing it perhaps , they do not know yet, but are rightfully confused and discouraged by all the conflict against what Truth says about the Church and what is being said by high officials in the Catholic Church that contradicts what Jesus Himself has said, in His Holy Word regarding His Church. Perhaps It is their own blindness or sin of pride that has stopped these people from making a public confession when their sin is public, on the websites or blogs they have. They really may not see it. The people who have their own websites and blogs need to be very careful of their own willful pride when it comes to this matter and if they look back at some of their earlier entries that some may say incite the very things they are accusing people of now , then they may eat some humble pie. God may even awaken their conscience to the facts of their own sin in the same area, in the past and perhaps even now, (I do not know), if they themselves are willing and be open to see it. As far as as I know then, one is expected to make public restitution , to be humble and admit they too have done the same if not even worse, at times or in the past, and may have even even led in such behavior over and over and over….

This following interview came from some media that had an article about the Evangelists converting, and it it is interesting to note no Catholic is bashing the Pope but rather the Pope is himself quoted as saying words that are contrary to Catholic Doctrine. It cannot be twisted to be anything but that even by those committing the sin of Papal idolatry.

Why is commenting or criticizing the Pope’s contradictory words and or actions that are or appear contrary and bewildering any different than the constant barrage that has taken place in same blogs over those a bit lower on the totem pole such as Cardinals and Bishops?. They blew off some pretty bad outrageous layered steam I recall over a long period of time. Suddenly because “they” perhaps no longer do that, they all of a sudden throw stones at those who are doing what they themselves did. They have short memories and even less humility . I used to find the scripture handy that God would say to me at times ,”before you take the splinter out of your neighbor’s eye remove the log out of your own”, because He always reminded and reminds me shortly after, if I have accuse others or used rash judgement about their behavior which I may have indulged in and/ or still do myself, because I am a sinner just like everyone else, no better, no worse.
Finally, commenting on the Pope’s very clear comments and how they may discourage people or sadden certain Catholics is still no reason to leave Holy Mother Church. If these people , these same people on the one hand tell fold get out if you are not serious, then say those who are weak in their Faith may leave, then what is that?
Same contradictory comments from bloggers. Michael Voris should be aware there have been in the past, some Popes who have committed outrageous scandalous actions, and The Catholic Church is still here. In the meantime, what is the expression that people are using these days” “Just sayin”

we cannot and should not attempt to control peoples’, that is Catholics and others from having some normal reaction as well as abnormal reaction from lack of knowledge regarding the Catholic Faith, regarding the confusing things the Pope says and does. One can say He is not his Papacy but that is nonsense. It is like saying the Pope is doing certain things that appear confusing or contradictory at times, and he has no idea that he is, or that he is a “victim” of everyone else. This itself is nonsense. At times of course he is the victim of lies, but do not say the Pope does not intend for His Papacy to move in a certain direction, He has said so Himself, and He says the quotes about judging and homosexual unions not other people. How can one keep saying the Pope does not know what he says or think before he speaks?. We must pray for the Pope
of course, jut like we must pray for the Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Deacons and everyone in the Catholic Church and those who have not been Blessed to yet come into Her, but we must speak the Truth when it needs to be spoken in season and out of season. The following is the article see what the Pope says and if He is mis-quoted. It is confusing to many to say the least. Why not be transparent?

While affirming traditional marriage, Pope Francis said the Roman Catholic Church may be open to supporting certain cases of civil unions, particularly when it involves benefits such as healthcare. He made the comments in an extensive new interview with an Italian newspaper on Wednesday.

“Matrimony is between a man and a woman,” the pope said in an article by the Corriere della Sera, translated by Catholic News Service, but added that “diverse situations of cohabitation [are] driven by the need to regulate economic aspects among persons, as for instance to assure medical care.”

“It is necessary to look at the diverse cases and evaluate them in their variety,” the Vatican leader added.

In the interview, Francis apparently also stated that the church will remain opposed to the usage of artificial birth control, but said the teaching should be applied with “much mercy.” He also defended the Catholic Church’s record on handling sex-abuse cases, which has recently been criticized by the U.N., noting that “no-one else has done more” to root out pedophilia, according to BBC News.

“The Catholic Church is perhaps the only public institution to have acted with transparency and responsibility,” the pope said.

“The statistics on the phenomenon of violence against children are shocking, but they also clearly show that the great majority of abuses are carried out in family or neighborhood environments.”

The pope also said that he finds the hype created around him to be “offensive,” especially when being depicted as a “Superpope.” A new Italian gossip magazine was released this week titled “My Pope,” centered entirely around Francis.

“I don’t like ideological interpretations, this type of mythology of Pope Francis. If I’m not mistaken, Sigmund Freud said that in every idealization there’s an aggression. Depicting the pope as a sort of Superman, a star, is offensive to me,” he commented.

“The pope is a man who laughs, cries, sleeps calmly and has friends like everyone else. A normal person.”

As for the pope’s stance on civil unions, the National Catholic Reporter said in a March 2013 article that throughout his career, Francis has been supportive of traditional marriage, but has expressed openness to legal arrangements to protect the rights of same-sex couples.

NCR also noted that several Vatican officials have expressed support for such unions in the past, when it comes to protecting people’s rights.

Speaking more broadly about sexual and medical ethics, Francis told Corriere della Sera that he has never really understood the expression of “non-negotiable values.”

“Values are values, period,” Francis said. “I cannot say that, among the fingers of a hand, there is one less useful than another. That is why I cannot understand in what sense there could be negotiable values.”

The Roman Catholic leader added that he continues his longtime practice of calling up people who write him letters sharing their problems in life. Once a month, he calls an 80-year-old widow who lost her son.
