U.S., Russia Agree on Syrian Plan

Things are looking up for peace in Syria. It’s amazing how quickly it’s moving. But so far it’s just talk of peace. Let’s keep praying.

Shockingly, the catalyst for peace has come from Russia, of all places. They’ve made the Americans look foolish with their war-mongering. Get a load of this quote from Russian President Vladimir Putin last week. It came in response to Obama’s speech to the American people to seek support for a military strike on Syria, in which he made reference to “American exceptionalism”. Putin said:

“I carefully studied [President Obama’s] address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States’ policy is ‘what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional.’  It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal. (Source)

When was the last time a Russian President spoke like this?

America has indeed demonstrated exceptionalism during its history. No doubt about it. But America is becoming less and less exceptional as time goes by. It used to stand out as a beacon of freedom and faith. But it’s losing its moral compass and don’t have many clear stands anymore, except perhaps its own self-interests, which is nothing exceptional since every other nation does as much.

I am still very fond of America and I admire it in many ways. But it’s losing its edge and the world is noticing. I think Americans are noticing too, as the country is mired in an economic quagmire, unemployment, unbearable debts, sexual addiction, street violence, corrupt politicians that can’t get anything accomplished, and a President whose policies have probably done more to undermine American exceptionalism than any other. The average American often seems too busy with consumerism to worry about doing the right thing.

American exceptionalism was a title rightly earned by previous generations. The current generation is squandering that inheritance while trying to cling to that title as if it were a birthright. Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way.

  1. The USA was founded by Freemasons and has a very anti-Catholic past (if you scratch the surface, it is still very anti-Catholic). It is the only country with a heresy named after it (Americanism). I would rather live in the USA than many other places, mind you. But I do not idolize it as paradise on earth or anything.

  2. While studying political science with professor Thomas Landers, one of the textbooks used was American Historical Documents 1000-1904. Beginning thus, The voyages to Vinland.(c.1000) The following account of the discovery of North America by Leif Ericsson is contained in the “Saga Of Eric The Red”… The part of the coast where Lief landed is in dispute…,though many scholars believe VINLAND to be on The New England shore.
Moving on; The American fathers did not want to be persecuted by denominations of so-called Christianity like they were in Europe. Their intent was not to separate government, law and education from Christianity, but persecution from denominations who persecuted them in Europe. Christians are supposed to be residents of earth and New Jerusalem;thus they ought to make laws here that benefit society, instead of legalizing morbidity, and normalizing this to impressionable schoolchildren.
In Syria both sides claim that the other used chemical weapons. Who is to be believed? Is the honest Western Popular Media who helped to legalize morbidity to innocent schoolchildren?
