Moral Issues

Because our culture is quickly disintegrating into virtual moral anarchy, it is important for Catholic apostolates to fearlessly and loudly proclaim the Church's constant teaching in the area of moral truths. Since the assault on human life and sexuality is more pronounced in our time, we will be focusing our efforts heavily in this area. Regular contributors to this page include John Pacheco, Pete Vere, and Chris Beneteau.

Vere gives us a practical angle to marriage from the perspective of canon law. (Vere - 19KB - 06.09)

How Same-Sex "Marriage" Affects You
Christians are sometimes asked how same-sex "marriage" affects them. Since we live in a very compartmentalized and "private" society, we are not always prepared to give a cogent defense because we fail to challenge the context in which this objection is raised. This article gives some quick and effective reasons to answer the question. (Pacheco - 27KB - 06.05)

The Church Should Say No to the Homosexual Agenda

The Bible, Sexual Immorality, and the Ignoramus Left
Chris Beneteau takes leftist pundit Bill Maher to school on the Biblical teaching against homosexuality. Bill's claims about Jesus and homosexuality are pretty funny (and erroneous) if you actually read the bible. (Beneteau - 13K - 04.06)

The Church and Persons Inflicted with Homosexual Tendencies
In this comprehensive paper, Fr. Ignatius digs into a number of issues surrounding homosexuality, looking at the problem from many aspects. A very enlightening and cogent piece. (Ignatius - 274KB - 04.05)

Loving A Church, Living A Faith: A Loving Response to Andrew Sullivan
This young Catholic convert, who is struggling with same-sex attraction, discusses how the Catholic Church welcomes and loves homosexuals and genuinely cares for them. But love must be reciprocated: while the Church must love the homosexual, the homosexual must, in turn, love the Church and submit to her as he would to Jesus Christ. All Catholics struggling with sexual sins must strive to obey the moral teachings of the Church.(Nelson - 04.04)

Corporate Pimpery and the Culture of Death
The current push for homosexual "marriage", "hate crime" measures, and abortion on demand is not all about "rights". It's about money, plain and simple. In this article, John Pacheco offers a different angle on this controversy, and exposes the "green fuel" behind these movements. (Pacheco - 12KB - 04.03)

Bringing Murder to the Middle Class
Ed Roche, the managing editor of Challenge Magazine, serves up this hard-hitting and biting article against the Culture of Death. Too little and too good, if you ask me. Find out why you should subscribe to Challenge. With editorials like this, who needs American conservatives? (Roche - 10KB - 04.03)

Between One Man and One Woman
Pete Vere and John Pacheco discuss the essential aspects of marriage from a Christian point of view, and show the utter contradiction of same-sex "marriage". Authentic marriage is a reflection of the divine essence of God as expressed by one man and one woman to the exclusion of all else. (Vere/Pacheco - 14KB - 04.02)

Same-sex "Marriage" and the Culture War
Ottawa area Catholic activist, Richard Bastien, offers an excellent treatise on same-sex "marriage" and the current culture war. Same-sex "Marriage", The Church, and Society
The Legate's Fr. Ignatius reflects on the Vatican's document on gay unions. In this article, Fr. Ignatius explains why the Church's position is not merely rooted in a "religious" question, but extends to almost all facets of human interaction, not the least of which is the natural law. (Ignatius - 19KB - 04.01)

Forcing us into their Bedrooms
It appears that the sodomites and homosexualists not only want the government out of the bedroom; they want us in! (Beneteau - 6KB - 03.09)

Sound Bites
Tired of the leftist media firing off loaded questions on same-sex marriage that leave you tongue-tied? (Pacheco - 67KB - 03.08)

Authentic Human Dignity
Despite what our critics outrageously claim, Catholics are called to love every person, regardless of the sin they engage in. In this article, John Pacheco spells out what the Catholic disposition should be towards militant homosexuals who seem bent on destroying society's social fabric. (Pacheco - 15KB - 03.08)

Homosexuality and the Anti-Trinitarian Connection

Response to Marlene Catterall on Bill C-250
Our Director responds to his Member of Parliament's support of Bill C-250, the "hate" crime bill designed to promote the homosexual agenda. Scarry stuff. (Pacheco - 14KB - 03.07)

Our Disintegration
The purpose of sexual intercourse is to procreate and to unite. The consequence of this purpose is pleasure. If we attempt to separate the purpose from the pleasure, then the consequent sexual license will lead to the ultimate destruction of our society. (Pacheco - 10KB - 03.06)

A Christian Opinion Against Homosexualism
Back in my University days, I wrote a short article exposing the sham of homosexualism. Turns out to be quite prophetic. (Pacheco - 10KB - 03.05)

Contraception

Contraception: Sexual Idolatry Revealed
The bible talks about idolatry and sorcery. And while conventional images of golden calves and magical incantatations first come to mind when these words are uttered, there is a far deeper meaning to them when considered within the realm of sex. In this article, Legate Director John Pacheco offers some views on this subject which are not that commonly known.
(Pacheco - 32KB - 07.05)

Towards a Culture of Life

A Layman's Misgivings over the Winnipeg Statement

Trusting God and Rejecting Contraception
Contraception is the sacrament of distrust and hopelessness. Chris Beneteau offer a few insights on the difference between licit and illicit birth regulation. Fifty Reasons Why The Winnipeg Statement Should be Recalled
Msgr. Vincent Foy has been battling the Canadian Bishops' infamous and tragic Winnipeg Statement for 35 years now. In this article, this holy priest spells out 50 reasons why the traffic light never changed from being red in the first place. (Foy - 29KB - 03.12)

The Winnipeg Statement: Enemy Within
Back in 1968 during the height of the sexual revolution, Pope Paul VI fulfilled Our Lord's prophetic words in Matthew 16:18. Jesus promised that Peter was the Rock against which even the gates of hell would not prevail. Thirty-five years ago, when all contraceptive hell broke loose against that Rock, the Pope didn't budge one inch. Sadly, that was not the case with a large part of the western episcopate who were deceived and manipulated into buying into the monstrous contraceptive lie. The above article gives a detailed account of that tragic story in Canada. (Pacheco - 39KB - 03.11)

Against the Fathers
Most Catholics (and non-Catholics, for that matter) are pretty clueless about the perennial and constant Christian teaching which has condemned contraception from the very beginning. Our director has put together a sample of Christian witness against this morally heretical practice. Contraception is depraved, wicked, and pernicious. Lose the rubbers, guys. The woman you are becoming intimate with is much, much more than a masturbating toy. (Pacheco - 28KB - 03.11)

The Battle of the Bond: The Rosary or Contraception
After giving a talk on the honour due to Our Lady, our director sat down and fired off what, in hindsight, seems to have been an inspired one hour worth of writing. Pete Vere then added his contribution and insights into how the rosary and contraception are two instruments of the culture war. One of them is a weapon of mass conversion; the other is a weapon of mass destruction. (Pacheco/Vere - 13KB - 03.10)

Of Treacheries, Tikes & Trinities
Traces the Contraception scourge from its beginning, and demonstrates how anti-Christian this lie is. Waiting for the Church to change Her teaching? The chances of that are as great as the United Nations pulling the plug on population control....NIL!!! (Pacheco - 24KB - 01.11)
