The “Church of Comfortable Accomodation” Piles On LifeSite News

Well,  you know it had to happen.  Rosica finally teamed up with Raymond Gravel to attack LifeSiteNews.  Fresh off his romp at the Toronto Star and Catholic World Report, Fr. Tom offered his commentary on Gravel’s lawsuit in the National Post which published a full page article on it.

Socon or Bust readers are encouraged to write a letter to the editor (letters@nationalpost.com) in response to the article. DO NOT write angry or long letters or focus on chastising the Post.  Let the facts speak for themselves and let your support for LifeSiteNews do the chastising. 200 words MAX. Letters from Catholic clergy and non-Catholics would have especially have strong weight. In e-mails and letters you MUST include your name, address and daytime phone #.

Here is mine (162 words):

If Father Gravel really believes that life begins at conception, then why did he endorse the Order of Canada being given to the Canadian Abortionist who was most responsible for its termination?   It is more than apparent that Fr. Gravel’s “sincere belief in life at conception” is as sincere and coherent as his bogus lawsuit.  And as for Fr. Rosica, his angry and bombastic rhetoric in this article, as well as his past smears of “Taliban Catholics” only show that the “Church of Comfortable Accommodation” which he represents is, at long last, losing its grip on the Catholic Church.  Gravel and Rosica’s retro-clericalism are just not finding any takers among the young and hip pro-life Catholics who are serious about their religion.  For a Catholic, “pro-life” means pro-life for everyone and everywhere, and it also means not playing the fool with false honours at the expense of innocent unborn children who were forced to pay cheap political tribute with their lives.

In addition to writing a letter to the editor,  Socon or Bust encourages readers to send respectful but very firm communication to these Church leaders:

  1. Thanks, John, for this alert. Here is my letter to the editor…..

Lifesitenews is doing the pro-life work that the Catholics should be
doing. It is not easy to step out into the public square and fight for
the unborn. It’s culturally unpopular. But with over 100,000 babies
killed in Canada each year by abortion, you have to ask if polite talk
is just not good enough. Catholics are called to change the culture and
to speak out boldly. If Father Gravel was doing active pro-life work,
then lifesitenews would have no cause to complain. His actions,
    however, speak otherwise.
    Kathie
