Welcome all former Socon or Bust readers!
I have decided to take the big plunge and merger Socon or Bust, The Catholic Legate, and The Rosarium all under one roof. All former Socon or Bust and Rosarium posts have been merged into this site so readers will be able to access past blog entries.
We will keep posting on current events that affect the Church and society at large, but we are also going to be emphasizing good old fashioned Catholic apologetics. My good friend William Albrecht will be leading the charge in this area, while yours truly and Steve G will continue to comment on current events.
My motivation for this change in emphasis has been developing over some time now. I am more and more convinced that in order to rescue our culture, Catholics need to start to define and mark our boundaries from the general malaise and relativism that’s out there, whether that is secular or even religious. The purpose of these boundaries is not to keep people out, but rather as Our Lord taught, to let “our light shine before all men” to demonstrate that indeed God did really separate the light from the darkness. It has a defined demarcation. It’s not wrong to say that there is a heaven and there is a hell. And the two places have a distinct boundary between them wherefore no one shall pass.
And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us. – Luke 16:26
It seems that every sort of disordered lifestyle and kooky religious heresy these days is “coming out of the closet”. Well, it’s time for Catholics to come out of the closet too and become bold witnesses for Jesus Christ.
I hope you all enjoy our new look and your prayers are most welcome!
