Topic: John’s Baptism & Christian Baptism

Question: Christian baptism is necessary for the remission of sins. John's baptism didn't remit original or actual sin. So then how were those baptized by John & NOT re-baptized with Christian baptism cleansed of sin?

Answer: They were not in this life. As Jews, if they died before Jesus descended into Hell and rescued the Just of the OT from the Limbus Patrorum that was their ticket out. If not, then their fate is in question.

Please note that the denial that the Apostles re-baptized those already baptized by John the Baptist was part of the agenda of Calvin in The Institutes. He basically contradicted what was clearly stated in Acts 19. This shows that despite his protestation to the contrary, when the Scriptures disagreed with his pre-conceived theological notions, he would contradict the Bible and assert his own speculations.
