American Life League (ALL) associate Children of God for Life (COGL) is a pro-life watch dog group that monitors the use of aborted fetal material in medical products and cosmetics. COGL recently discovered global food companies providing development funding to Senomyx for research into human taste receptors via a process that uses human fetal cells.
“What they do not tell the public is that they are using HEK 293 ‘human embryonic kidney cells’ taken from an electively aborted baby to produce those receptors”, stated Debi Vinnedge, Executive Director for Children of God for Life, in a press release. Since “moral options for testing their food additives could and should be used,” Children of God for Life is calling for a boycott of PepsiCo, Kraft, and Nestle products as Senomyx “collaborators.”
The Senomyx website lists multinational food conglomerates PepsiCo, Kraft, Nestle, and others as providing research and development funding plus royalties on sales of products using Senomyx flavor ingredients. Vinnedge thanked Campbell Soup for severing ties with Senomyx soon after being contacted by COGL about the controversial process.
“We are thankful for Ms. Vinnedge’s expertise and pro-life vigilance,” said Leslie Tignor, Associate Director at ALL. “We are proud that Children of God for Life is an ALL associate.”
Children of God for Life based in Largo, Fl is one of 112 associates in ALL’s nationwide network.
