To mark the beginning of Advent and preparations for Christmas, the Holy Father has invited all dioceses, parishes, religious communities, movements and associations throughout the world to join him in a Solemn Vigil for All Nascent Human Life.
This will be celebrated on first vespers for the First Sunday of Advent. The vigil is to thank God for the Incarnation of his Son and for the gift of Life, and to ask for the Lord’s protection over every human being called into existence.
Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate the Vigil for All Nascent Human Life at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome on the evening of November 27, 2010.
In the Ottawa Archdiocese, this prayer service will be held at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica on Saturday evening, November 27 at 7PM.
All are invited and welcome to attend.
The above notice comes from Archbishop Prendergast’s blog.
Socon or Bust extends our gratitude to the Archbishop for his consistent and valiant efforts to witness to the unborn. We are rather certain that he was instrumental in shaking down the funding abuses at Development & Peace and steering the ship back to chartered waters.
Oh, and by the way, dear reader, what is your bishop doing on November 27? If he isn’t doing what the Holy Father asked him to do, ask him why not?
Ask why him why he thinks you should obey him when he won’t obey the Holy Father? Or perhaps there are more important priorities on that day?
Fire off those letters and emails, folks, because we have the momentum now and we’ve got the devil on the run. Don’t let up. Keep up the pressure. Hit hard. Hit often.
