When life gets tough, call mom.
That’s what Pope Francis is doing this Sunday, the feast of Our Lady of Fatima.
On Sunday, Holy Father is planning to consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Beginning Saturday there will be a pilgrimage to the tomb of St. Peter, Eucharistic Adoration, confession, and then at 5 p.m. Rome time (11 a.m. New York time), Pope Francis will receive the original image of Our Lady from Fatima, transported to Rome from Portugal for the occasion. The Rosary will also be recited together with marian shrines around the world. On Sunday, an estimated 200,000 people will join the Holy Father as he celebrates Holy Mass and entrusts the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. (Source)
Pope John Paul II did something similar back in 1984.
