In a June 28 email bulletin, 4MYCANADA, reported the normal Order of Canada Advisory Committee process may have been changed in order to ensure a Morgentaler nomination. 4MYCANADA states, “Normally anyone who receives this award does so by unanimous consent of the committee that approves nominees. From what we understand at this point, this committee, headed by Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin, PC, decided to over-ride that protocol and take this one to a democratic vote on the committee. The majority of the committee voted in favour of Morgentaler’s nominee and so, for (what we understand) may be the first time in history, the committee appointed someone without their normal unanimous consent – someone who millions of Canadians would not consider a hero in our nation.”…(Source)
Something doesn’t smell right here. How was it possible for the Chief Justice to override the standard protocol in awarding the Order of Canada to a Mass Murderer? It is already highly inappropriate for a Chief Justice of this country to be getting involved in what is essentially a purely political exercise. The Order of Canada is not meant to be a playground for controversial political awards, and one can hardly imagine a more controversial or outrageous selection than Henry Morgentaler. Beverly McLachlin has overstepped her bounds as Chief Justice and has done a great disservice to this country by her actions. In fact, if what is described above is correct, her arrogant behaviour and political interference should cause our elected officials to condemn her actions. The Order of Canada is not some personal ideological play-thing of an unelected and radical judge. It is rather an honour which is supposed to be awarded to recipients who reflect the aspirations and values of ALL Canadians, not just a cliquey, elitist abortion-totting cabal which it has turned into. Like the Human Rights Commissions, Ms. McLachlin presumes to decide too much on our behalf, and it is becoming clearer that our country is becoming more totalitarian by the day. Like the act of abortion itself on the unborn child, our nation is being fragmented and diced up. It is being apportioned into those who enjoy political and social privileges of the politically correct elite, and those (mostly Christian and conservative) who do not. As a constituency, social conservatives are becoming more and more disenfranchised every day. It is not difficult to see once this disenfranchisement reaches full throttle what this will eventually mean for our country. It is amazing to see the willful blindness of both appointed officers like McLachlin and our elected officials.
And what about the Conservatives’ perpetual propensity to “pass the buck”? Today we will almost certainly hear the Sock Puppets read off their Sock Puppet notes that the PMO has prepared for them as Canadians from all political quarters question the legitimacy and prudence of such a selection. Like their response concerning the illegal, immoral, and criminal actions of the Human Rights Commissions, the Conservative government’s response will be to tuck their tails snugly between their legs and run and hide from their responsibility to represent the people of Canada. Instead of smacking down this totalitarian encroachment by a Star Chamber Committee of an Unelected Council, the response will be to deny, disavow and defer any and all responsibility to The Unelected Clique. It’s so typical of today’s Conservatives. They would rather deny the real and substantial problems Canada faces and the place abortion has played in it, then to confront it like real men. Instead, they are content to allow Henry Morgentaler to destroy the Order of Canada, render it a mockery, and insult those who have been honoured with it in the past. The Conservative government has become a poster child for political eunuchary: they would rather destroy what others have rightly been awarded than stand up to a notorious abortionist and his disciples.
Neville Chamberlain has nothing on Canada’s “new government”.
