In January 2010, after the earthquake struck, some staff from Development and Peace were sent to Haiti to get involved in the relief effort. An article posted on D&P’s own website summarizes the first day when these workers arrived in Haiti. Interestingly, they seem glad to report that Caritas Dominican and the U.S. Catholic Relief Services were providing bottled water to the Haitians.
I’m surprised this article got published. I guess the relief workers didn’t get the memo about the official party line on bottled water.
One more black-eye for D&P in their embattled bottled-water campaign.
