Nine Days that Changed the World

In June 1979, Pope John Paul II made an historic nine-day visit to Poland, which was the beginning of the end of communism in Europe.  It was a huge turning point in the history of the 20th century.

Now, we have a new documentary showing never-before seen footage of this incredible event.  The film is called Nine Days that Changed the World.  You can watch the trailer below.

I’m told that the movie includes a remarkable moment when, as hundreds of thousands were gathered with the Pope, he invoked the Holy Spirit to descend upon them.  The crowd was filled with a great joy and peace, despite the intimidation and threats of the communists.  At that moment, the people realized that they were empowered to overturn communism.  It was like Pentecost.

This video reminds us that despite all the crap we see around us, God is still working powerfully in our midst.  Take heart and keep up the hope!

For our Canadian readers, please note that the gift shop at St. Patrick’s Basilica in Ottawa is currently the only distributor in Canada of this video.  I encourage you to call them and order a copy (613-235-7963).  Their first shipment already sold out but they have ordered more!  I will order my copy tomorrow.  You won’t want to miss this.
