Need scouting report from your diocese on Benedict’s November 27 pro-life vigil

As you know, Pope Benedict has called on all dioceses in the world to hold a pro-life vigil on November 27.

Here in Ottawa, our Archbishop has organized a vigil at our Cathedral.

What’s happening in your diocese?  We’d love to hear from you.  Please take a moment to leave a comment in which you name your diocese and state whether you’re aware of a pro-life vigil being held on November 27 in your area.

  1. Vigil for Nascent Human Life

In union with Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI,
    Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, DD,
will celebrate a special vigil of prayer
for the safeguarding of all nascent human life
on the eve of the First Sunday of Advent.

    Cathedral of Christ the King,
    714 King Street West, Hamilton
    Saturday, November 27, 2010
    7:30 p.m.

All are welcome to join Bishop Crosby
    in our Cathedral Church
    for this time of prayer
as we begin a new liturgical year.

  2. My wonderful pro-life bishop, Bishop De Angelis, from the Peterborough diocese has issued a directive to every parish asking them to participate in this pro-life initiative from our Holy Father. My parish, in Parry Sound, is having an all-night vigil, where the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in our Madonna Chapel. Parishioners have signed up for one hour shifts from the end of the Saturday afternoon Mass, all through the night, and up to the Sunday morning Mass. A neighbouring parish, in Powassan, is having 24 hour Adoration at their church.

  3. I doubt we had any support from the clergy here in Moncton. (None of them bothered to respond to our letters and many had been unaware of the vigil until probably last week or so.) In the end, we were able to organize a 12-hour Adoration at St.Therese’s Church (9pm to 9am, so that it doesn’t interfere with regularly scheduled services,) with about 30-40 people participating.
