Hello friends,

I wanted to update you on Canada’s Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) initiative launched at the Muskoka G-8 summit. I am proud our Conservative government continues to champion the health of mothers and children in the world’s most vulnerable regions without bending to an ideological agenda.

Sincerely,

Hon. Jason Kenney, PC, MP

Calgary Southeast

From a Socon or Bust reader….

Thank you Minister Kenney for the update on Canadian initiatives in maternal and child health care. For the most part these are positive steps. However, one of the initiatives includes,  “and increasing access to contraceptives..” Medical evidence has strongly confirmed that many contraceptives are abortifacient and not only kill the child but also do grievous damage to the mother. This runs contrary to the goals of your program.

Natural Family Planning is substantially more effective and has virtually no cost. Instead of funding contraceptives, provide education to these couples. We have seen also that the use of NFP has drawn couples closer together.

Natural Family Planning is not 100% effective (contraceptives far less so) and therefore couples must always be open to new life.  Joy must be the mode and not anger.  Would not people who eat without being hungry and not welcome the fruit of this nourishment be considered gluttons?

Yours truly,

Tony L.
