Ottawa police are investigating an incident in the Canadian capital after a local Mennonite man was stabbed on a street corner while on a mission trip with his church, a conservative Mennonite church from Drayton. The 26 year old man was stabbed in the back while part of a singing group at the corner of George and Dalhousie streets. The attacker is described as a 20-22 year old slim white female with blonde hair having pink streaks. Sgt. Frank Coates says the investigation is ongoing, and the victim suffered stab wounds to his lower back, and has been released from hospital. Witnesses at the scene said the woman became aggressive with some members during the event, and stabbed one, because of his beliefs regarding homosexuality. The group assured her that God still loves those who are in such a state. Eric Brubacher told the CFRA Talk Radio his organization was out there to sing and hand out Gospel literature. He described the situation as an upsetting ordeal. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect can call Ottawa Police’s Central District Investigators at +1 613 236 1222 ext 5166 or Crime Stoppers at +1 613 233 8477 (TIPS) or toll free +1 800 222 8477. But, hey, it’s not really a hate crime because LGBTDJOSDFJLSDJFL lobby were not the victims. This will simply go down as one of those unlabelled and anonymous random acts of violence by a disturbed young woman. There will be no connection to the sexual politics of our age.
Now, if the situation was reversed…..well…never mind.
