Thankfully My parish is more traditional in its construction (60’s just before Vat II began, however no altar rails) all concrete and marble stone) and has its Tabernacle right behind the Altar and the priests and higherups sit at the side. However, one parish I went to for an occasion had its tabernacle to the side of the main altar and behind the main altar was a giant mural of the Ascension of our Lord. Sorry but my liturgical no-no bells went off (plus one other thing) and this detracted from the solemn experience. Where the tabernacle is placed does make a difference in prayer.
