Her Majesty’s Chilly Dominion

Her Majesty’s chilly Dominion is the land where straights live in common-law partnerships and the gays get maried. And the upshot is: America’s fertility rate is 2.11; Canada’s is 1.48.

And where does that lead? Canucks are aging faster than the Yanks. In 2000, oldsters formed 16.3% of America’s population and 17% of Canada’s-close enough. In 2040, they’ll form 26% of America’s population and 33.3% of Canada’s. (Mark Steyn, America Alone, p.55)

Where does it lead? Death, of course.

I was driving to work this morning and there was some road work being done on my usual route. As I drove slowly passed the construction, I started to think of the consequences of not doing the road work now. Sure, we might get another year or so out of the road, but then it would start to be a real hazzard to motorists. Eventually, if there were no repairs to it, I’m sure there would be accidents and deaths.

That’s kind of the situation we have today in Canada. The so-called “adult” population in this country is either deferring children or having none at all. In other words, they are refusing to get the road fixed because, as I discussed in my previous blog entry, it’s too much of a drag. And just like the consequences of not fixing the road, there’s going to be some real consequences in opposing the natural law, except instead of a crummy road, a whole nation is being silently flushed down the toilet.

And no one really cares. They just keep going. It is becoming more and more obvious that the truly patriotic Canadians – the one’s that actually care about Queen and country – are social conservatives. Why? Because it is we social conservatives who care about the future because, unlike our liberal opponents, we acknowledge that there should be a future!
