Dinner with the Pro-Life “Movers and Shakers”

My wife and I, along with Steve G., attended Ruth Lobo and James Swan’s fundraiser last Saturday.  It was sold out with about 100 people attending.  Deborah Gyapong has some pics here

We had the privilege of sitting with the producer of Bella, Jason Jones (who is only 39), and were amazed at what this fine young man has been through and what he is doing.  When he was only 18, his girlfriend at the time became pregnant and was forced by her father to abort his 6 month-old child.  As a result, he vowed to commit his life “to fight and change the abortion law in the U.S.”  When I heard him say that, I kind of chuckled to myself, “One guy, take down abortion?” But he said it with so much conviction and he’s had some remarkable successes that I’m almost prone to believe him.  He studied philosophy and history, I think he said, at University and was an atheist. He had no religious background but eventually became Catholic.  He chided the other speaker at our table who was also an atheist (but very supportive of Carleton Lifeline) that he would become Catholic too one day.

Jason also said that Hollywood has a strong contingent of pro-life actors and actresses.  That little factoid really surprised me.   He said even Rosie O’Donnell liked Bella.

There are incredible individuals in the pro-life movement that are springing up everywhere.  That fact alone means abortion is a dead duck.  The other side doesn’t have the talent or the drive like we do.

Check out some of Jason’s other movies here.  As you can see, he’s not a one trick pony. This man is dangerous and he’s going to be a real weapon against the abortion industry in the U.S. and around the world.
