It’s sooooooooooooooo predictable for Catholic politicians to thumb their noses at the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. You know the big bad Catholic Church and the Pope actually having the audacity to define what is and what is not Catholic. Imagine! What a revolutionary thought. It seems that everyone is allowed to stake out their position, except, of course, the Catholic Church which must bend to every form and wind of politically correct doctrine spewed by the Left these days.
Well, there has to be some kind of consequence to these perpetual prodigals.
This is the official position of the Church as expressed by one of our canon lawyer/theologians:
“Consequently, if a Catholic publicly and obstinately
supports the civil right to abortion, knowing that the Church teaches officially against that legislation, he or she commits that heresy envisioned by Can. 751 of the Code. Provided that the presumptions of knowledge of the law and penalty (Can.15,2) and imputability Can.1321,3) are not rebutted in the external forum, one is automatically excommunicated according to Can. 1364, 1.” (Source)
To translate the above Church legalese into simple language: “if you support the murder of the unborn, you are automatically excommunicated.”
So since Dalton McGuinty is such a cheerleader for the Death & Dismemberment Squad, the Church in Canada from laity to clergy should not indulge his pretensions to being Catholic.
From now on, no Catholic should recognize Dalton McGuinty as a fellow Catholic. He has declared himself a heretic and an excommunicate. Give him what he wants.
