Boston Catholic Parish Hosting Gay Pride Mass

Once again, in the diocese where “relativism” is a household word, we’ve got a Boston Catholic parish hosting a Mass to celebrate “Gay Pride” with the full knowledge of the archdiocesan hierarchy.  The same parish’s “Rainbow Ministry” is also sponsoring a trip to see the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus and on the same page with those notices, they ask parishioners to support the retirement, medical and financial needs of the priests of the Archdiocese who have have given their lives to faithfully serve Christ….(Source)

Can’t say that I’m surprised with Cardinal O’Malley. Remember, the Kennedy Funeral?

I wish I was wrong about my instincts.  Just once.

  1. Is there any evidence that O’Malley actually knew about this? On a first quick readthrough I didn’t see any indication that he is personally aware of it.

Also, it’s worth observing that I didn’t notice anything in O’Malley’s letter on homosexuality (which is denounced in this blog as “false compassion”) that isn’t good teaching, both pastorally and dogmatically. Granted I only read the bit posted on the blog.

I don’t have time to do further research at the moment, but unless there is clearer evidence, I would caution against tying this to O’Malley.

  2. Well, I hope you’re right. But unless we hear about a cancellation, then the buck stops at the top…and even if the buck does stop, what does that say of the people O’Malley has chosen to look out for the Catholic Faith at the Archdiocesan level?

There’s only so much credulity we can have.
