The much revered ancient Icon of ” Our Lady of Częstochowa” (“The Black Madonna”) has been credited with numerous miracles and healings – both of a spiritual and physical nature. A specially consecrated replica of this Icon has traveled 40,000 miles from Vladivostok in Russia, through 24 countries in Europe. Now it is in North America and will be visiting Ottawa on her From Ocean to Ocean pilgrimage in the defence of life and family. (Not at all a coincidence, I think, considering all that is happening in the Church concerning the “pastoral debate” on adultery if we hold to traditional definitions. I think it is instructive how, like the secular culture around us who succeeded in legally re-defining marriage, some of our wayward Bishops and Cardinals are all but now trying to do the same today.)
Please join us as we welcome her and ask Our Lady for her guidance and protection as the Icon visits the following locations in Ottawa:
