The oppression and amateurism continues at Censorship U. The silly student’s union can’t even follow its own policies and ensure due process as they try to suppress their fellow students.
I encourage you to check out our blog for a new update regarding our situation at Carleton University specifically with our Student Union. On December 16th, Carleton Lifeline and their lawyer Albertos Polizogopolous attended a meeting with the Student Union to discuss an appeal Lifeline had submitted in regards to their denial of club status on November 18th. At this meeting, Lifeline was denied the right to have Legal Counsel speak for them because it apparently violated CUSA Policy, though there is no evidence of this.
Further, CUSA President Alex Sirois abstained from voting on Lifeline’s appeal because of a conflict of interest. CUSA Constitutional Board (the governing body to which Lifeline submitted the appeal which is an arm of CUSA) policies state that 5 members of the Board must vote on any given decision and no abstentions are allowed. The Board members were to secure a replacement for Sirois before the meeting, not during. By doing this and by permitting only 4 members to vote on a decision, CUSA has once again violated their own internal processes.

I want to thank you all for the support we have received over Christmas and in the past few months. I encourage all of you to continue to pray for an end to abortion in our lifetime and for continued strength and energy for all those fighting for life on campus and off.
