Abortion nonsense

The  National Post published a column today that clumsily limps its way through the abortion debate before eventually arriving at the conclusion that the status quo on abortion legislation in Canada is the best way to go. It’s a really weak article and not worth wasting your time to read, hence I won’t bother providing the link. I’m flagging it merely in case some of you read it and were misled by this nonsense.

The author doesn’t build an argument to the effect that the authentic pro-life position – that abortion is never justified – is incoherent. He doesn’t provide any logical or medical facts to refute the pro-life stance. He simply points to polls suggesting that many self-identified “pro-lifers” believe that abortion is justifiable in some circumstances. So what? That’s hardly an argument.

Nor does he provide any logical or medical argument for his alternative: that birth should be the only demarcation line between murder and a medical procedure.

His argumentation is very weak. But what do you expect? Pro-choicers lost the argument a long time ago. That’s why they resort to bullying and arresting people. Unfortunately, many casual readers won’t have noticed the absence of meat in his article and may very well just gobble up his conclusion.

Contrast this to the sanity from Barbara Kay and William Saletan.

  1. I’m glad Chris Selley writes for the pro abortion side. His arguments are poor which makes his side look stupid and unreasonable.

  2. “WHAT IS LEGAL IS MORAL,” is a frightening slogan used to justify all kinds of atrocities today and throughout history.

What is legal is moral isn’t necessarily true.
Legality was used to exterminate natives in Australia, Africa, North and South America, India, the killing of Jews and the destruction of the unwanted today. Legality was also used to justify slavery, the slave trade and the legal sexual exploitation of children.

The main term used by the pro-abortion propagandist is the term “CHOICE”. The right to choose.
The main term used by the Nazis to cover up their killing was “SELECTION”. The right to select.
It was the socially engineered doctors who were making selections in the Nazi death camps.
It is the doctors indoctrinated this way by our education establishments, in conjunction with indoctrinated pregnant women, who are making “choices” in Western abortion chambers.
The right to select in the past and the right to choose today represents the same “evil” power to destroy those who deserve our protection instead of Capital Punishment. The Nazi’s passed over 400 laws to legalize the final solution. That is why they said at the Nuremberg Trials,”we did nothing wrong.”
In a democratic country the people decide politically the course of their Civilization. The people get the politicians and laws they want. Politics is overwhelmingly important to the way a democratic society goes.
